I guess that every movie and book has some point at which the hero reaches definite understanding of life. It happened , for example, with Celie and Odysseus too. Even if the journey of Odysseus was very long and not the same as Celie’s but still he had reached the point when he could live with his family again. Of course, he would not be the same person again but he find his peace at his home. Even if he will be living in other world, the memories of his journey and the worlds that he had seen, will accompany him in his future life. Because there is no way he can forget his entire journey which lasted several years. His freedom to live comes at the moment when he returns home and begins his new life.
